There are plenty of sites to be found in and just outside of the city, where you may find some adventure and extreme activities.

There is something for every adrenaline junkie out there: wild excursions, rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking, wakeboarding, skydiving and free jumping. Here is the list of activities that we have put together to feed your appetite for adrenaline.

Barcelona has a magnificent 4 km long coastline with many beautiful beaches. The climate during the summer is very pleasant and there are many people who enjoying sunbathing, lying on the comfy sand. For more adventurous people, there is a white water rafting excursion. The activity is located in Llavorsi, which is only a three hours’ drive from the city. It is a whole day’s activity, so you should plan it in advance and make sure to make reservations. You will have the chance to raft on one of the best rafting rivers in Europe, the Noguera Pallaresa river. During a 20 kilometer long descend, you will go deep into the mountains. Amazing nature will add up to this memorable experience.

Unique Adventure Parks

If you want to take a timeout after an adrenaline rush and get ready for the next one, this type of park is the right place for you. These parks are very suitable for a family of adventurers, and they are really close to the city, easily accessible by car.

Rock Climbing

Barcelona is an excellent place for climbers. The landscapes range from those that are good for beginners to those reserved only for the most experienced.  Thanks to the mountains surrounding Barcelona, there are quite a few perfect mountain bike trails for all levels. Some of the most popular areas are in Montnegre, Garraf, Collserola, Montseny and Montserrat. You will be able to enjoy some breathtaking views while you keep pedaling through the wild nature. You might even consider taking on a GoPro cam so you can film your adventure.

The areas with biking trails are easily accessible by car and there are agencies that also include transportation in mountain biking arrangements. Finding an agency might be a better option if you are not experienced and don’t have any knowledge on biking route planning.
