Natural Foods and Drinks That Should Be a Part of Your Detox Diet

Being physically active can do wonders for your body, as well as your mind. Regular exercise, cutting down on bad foods and alcohol, is highly recommended if you want to be healthy. It is beneficial and refreshing. However, if you have no time for exercising, you could start detoxing by adding several natural foods to your diet. And instead of drinking sodas, you could drink natural teas or juices.

Here are several suggestions you could try out.

1. The three A’s: Artichokes, Avocado, Asparagus

When it comes to food, green means healthy. No matter if it’s salads, veggies or fruits, you should use them on a daily basis. However, for this paragraph, we chose three specific greens you should try out. First of all, artichokes are good for your liver and gallbladder. They can make your digestion better and help you produce more bile. Aside from that, they are full with antioxidants, proteins, fibre and potassium, among other things.

Next up is avocado. Except being very nutritious, it is filled with fatty acids which help fight inflammation. Moreover, this plant is great for weight loss, reducing blood sugar, and lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. All in all, avocado is truly wondrous. And lastly, if you are looking for extra healthy food, eat asparagus. It is great for cutting down on inflammations, for you heart and liver. Also, asparagus has anti-age properties helping the brain fight the decline in the cognitive department.

2. Tea

Tea is always a better option than coffee. If you are looking for a caffeine boost, drink tea rich in caffeine rather than having coffee. It will have the same effect just with more health benefits. Teas are full with antioxidants, vitamins, and are great for hydrating your body. Additionally, drinking tea can help you fight various diseases like heart problems and cancers. The most common tea for detox, or for general use, is green tea. But you could try something else like camomile, white tea, or even parsley tea, which is useful for boosting your immune system or purifying your organism.

3. Lemons

Fresh summer drink with ice cubes, lemon, lime and mint.

It is well known that lemons are rich in vitamin C. This vitamin helps with detoxing your body, as well as burning fat. You could jump start your organism, every morning, by drinking a glass of lemon water. Fill the glass with warm water and put a few drops of lemon juice in it, or put a slice of lemon inside. You could add a few mint leaves, too, to give it a special bold flavour. Furthermore, the yellow fruit is amazing for improving your digestion.

4. Garlic and ginger

Garlic is an amazing addition to your meals. Thanks to its taste, it adds an interesting flavour to every meal it is put in. Other than that, garlic has some of the best health benefits. For example, you could use it to fight off a cold, boost up your immune system, for various heart problems, or just as a detox.

Other than garlic, ginger is also good for detoxing. It helps your body with the digestive system, fighting nausea, infections, or increasing your appetite. Moreover, ginger is great for relieving pain, especially menstrual pain. Clearly, it is a mighty powerful food, and you should definitely add it to your diet.

5. Seeds and nuts

There is a big offer, here. So, if you are a picky eater, there is a lot to choose from. But, be certain you will find something you’ll like. Almonds, for example, are rich in vitamin E, magnesium, protein and fats. If you do not like those, you can go for walnuts, which are full of antioxidants. Other foods you could eat are sunflower seeds, pistachios, and pumpkin seeds, for instance. You could add the seeds and nuts into a meal or just eat them as snacks. Either way, they will contribute to your health.

In conclusion, your options are numerous. Whatever you settle for, it will be good for you. More importantly, it would be great if you used some, or all, of these foods regularly, not just for detoxing your body.
