Modern living becomes hectic after some time, indeed. Each and every day – walking, driving, engaging in public transport – just to get indoors again to do something sitting down. When living in urban areas, we don’t get to witness the beauty of our very own planet and the power of nature, and when it comes to overcoming stress, this is something that you can’t replace. Nature has a way of relieving stress and provoking calmness like nothing else. This is why a vacation that includes spending time outdoors is a perfect choice for people living in urban areas.

Europe has a particularly diverse landscape and has areas with very different climate, and it doesn’t take a lot of time and money to travel across it. All you need to do is make a decision about what type of vacation you want to take. This is why we will suggest three different types of outdoor vacations you can choose, and suggest a location in Europe. Of course, these locations are known for this type of tourism, therefore, they are suitable for you.

Hiking Road Trip

There is a certain beauty behind walking long distances and really taking the time to get connected with nature. Hiking can be exhausting but is also very rewarding at the end of the day. It gives you the option to pause and really take in the scenery you are passing through.

When hiking for the first time, we suggest that you get a guide or sign up for an organized hiking trip through famous routes. Don’t take hiking lightly, and dress according to your guide’s tips so you can actually enjoy the whole thing. There is nothing fun about shivering from the cold or having trouble with blisters on your feet due to bad shoes.

Location: Alsace Wine Trail, France

We decided to suggest France for those who are attempting hiking as a vacation for the first time. The popular Wine Trail is an easy walking path, indubitably made easier by all the quality wine you are going to run into along the road. The tour lasts around five days, and you can get guidelines at the local tourist office.

Motorcycling Road Trip

Well, there is nothing quite like riding a bike through Europe. This isn’t something that everyone will like but if you are into motorcycles, then you are going to enjoy riding through Europe. It is a very popular destination for bikers from around the world due to its diverse landscape, but the biker community is pretty strong in Europe itself.

Location: The Amalfi Coast Road, Italy

We suggest that you avoid taking this journey in summer seasons since you will end up stuck in tourist traffic and forced to cruise at turtle speed. This road is called “The Road of A Thousand Bends” for a reason, so make sure your bike is in order and start riding through the beautiful scenery between Naples and Salerno.

Cycling Road Trip

And, last but not least is the cycling trip. Bicycles have become very popular in Europe as a solution to heavy traffic jams and a solution to reducing carbon emission and polluting the environment. What started as a trend led a lot of people to really falling in love with cycling, and for a good reason, too! As far as taking your bicycle on a vacation with you goes, Europe is filled with beautiful places for this kind of adventure.  Be careful though, not all places are safe, and stealing a bicycle isn’t a tremendously hard thing to do. This is why it is important to insure it before you set off, especially if you really invested into it.

Location: South Downs, England

This is the most popular cycling location in Europe probably. The reason it is so famous is that it offers something for everyone. Almost a completely car free cycling route that is suitable for both extreme cyclers and amateurs, the cycling path between Winchester and Eastbourne is around 100 miles long and is really worth your time.

So that’s it, pick your vacation style and location and start packing. The great outdoors awaits you and it has a way of taking you away from your planned course into some great memories!
