Eating Healthy: Time-Saving Tips & Tricks

Having healthy meals isn’t that difficult at all. It’s all a matter of habit, really, and somehow a lot of people decide to adopt the bad ones. Preparing a meal that’s full of energy capable of enabling you to have a great day will take just as much time as going to the nearest fast food restaurant. Taking care of what you eat will be the best decision you’ve ever made – after just a week, you’ll be able to accomplish so much more during your busy day than ever before.

The only thing left is making the final decision. That will take some planning and some cooking skills upgrading, but don’t be alarmed – it’s nothing you’re not familiar with by now. After checking out the next few ideas, I bet your mouth will be watering!

Breakfast

Cheese and Fruits. This is a strange combination of tastes, but you won’t know how delicious it is until you try it. Perhaps you’ll need some time to get used to it. Slice an apple or two, add about two ounces of Cheddar, spice it up with some walnuts, and voila – you’ve just prepared yourself a great breakfast.

Scrambled Eggs and Veggies. If you’re not too keen on experimenting, you’ll love this idea. A couple of eggs, a handful of tomatoes, spinach or broccoli, add some cheese and spices – and you’re done! You’ll need about a minute or two to cook it, and you can even bring it with you to work and eat later, because it will be tasty later, too.

Cereals and Lemon. This one is really fast to prepare. You’ll need a bowl of fiber-rich cereals, a glass of milk (or yogurt, if you prefer), and some lemon or vanilla extract (or both, perhaps). You can sprinkle the top with some nuts or your favorite barriers. Your meal will be ready in a minute, and you’ll feel like an experienced chef when you taste it. It’s all about the little things, you know.

Lunch

Black Bean Wrap. A cup of black berries, sliced avocado, a handful of black beans, a bit of finely chopped red onion and some hot sauce is all that you need. Put these tasty ingredients together in a wrap and enjoy your homemade lunch!

Veggie Burger. Cut a bun in half then place a veggie burger in it, add a couple of tomato slices, cover it with some cottage cheese and spice it up with brown mustard. This is just a base, you can, and you should experiment with other ingredients, like butter or garlic, but whatever you do – you simply can’t go wrong.

Turkey Wrap. Being a delicious source of protein, turkey should be on your daily menu at least once per week. You’ll need a whole-wheat wrap, a couple of turkey slices, a tablespoon of hummus, two tablespoons of goat cheese and some spinach. If you prefer parmesan, it will be a great ingredient, too. This meal is ready to go in just a couple of minutes.

Dinner

Mushroom Burger. Preparing a family dinner after work? This meal won’t exhaust you additionally, and everyone will love it! You’ll need two different pans to get it over with faster – one for the mushrooms and another for the burgers. There’s nothing much you can add to the burgers, just cook them for a couple of minutes on both sides. But, when it comes to mushrooms, you’ll need some olive oil, one red onion, some pepper and of course – mushrooms. Slice them up to small pieces, then mix those mushroom pieces with the rest of the ingredients, put them all in a pan and cook them on light temperature for about 15 minutes. Don’t forget to stir!

Avoiding dinner is not the right solution if you want to lose some weight, and unfortunately, that’s exactly what people decide to do in most cases. Light tomato, broccoli or mushroom soup is a healthy and satisfying dinner which won’t affect your diet, and more importantly – you won’t starve until you decide to eat a candy bar around midnight.

And Finally – Dessert!

Yes, they are healthy, and no, don’t listen to anyone who claims differently. A healthy dose of sugar is what your body needs to function properly, but then again, that shouldn’t give you an excuse to eat one whole chocolate. Homemade milkshakes are what you need in order to forget all about candy bars, but you don’t have to stop there. There are a lot of fruity desserts which are quite easy to make, like Peanut Butter Waffles or Chia Seed Pudding.

The key for healthy meals is moderation. Discipline yourself and try not to overeat, since nothing good can come out of it. With these time-efficient recipes, you’ll adopt some great eating habits in no time!
